In my latest observations of social media relationship rants, I’ve noticed there are a lot of single women making some of the same erroneous statements: All of the good men are taken or gay”, “I can’t find a man because THEY…”, or my favorite, “God will send me someone.” Well yes, all things are done in God’s timing, but faith is an action word! You have to show Him you’re ready by preparing yourself. Here are a few tips that may save you time and heartache.
Expand Your Dating Pool!
- Don’t just search the typical social media sites (Facebook, Match.com, etc.), looking for single men.
- Trying patrolling sites that cater to your hobbies and interests (www.writers.com, orwww.ilovetoknit.com). This will ensure you have something in common with your potential suitor.
- If you’re looking for a quality guy on a dating site, remember these words: “If it’s free, flee!” If a guy is serious about finding a potential mate on a dating site, he won’t mind paying. A guy most likely won’t want to waste his time or yours if he’s giving his hard earned money to become a member of a respectable dating site.
- Expanding your dating pool also means expanding some of your personal preferences, such as race. But if you plan to date outside of your race, please keep this under advisement: Don’t think that white men aren’t aggressive, just because white women appear to be more passive! Some white men can be just bad as Black men.
- Be open to going places you usually wouldn’t go (cooking classes, art galleries, golf tournaments, etc.)
- Organize your “list”, and then throw it away! Every woman has, or should have a list of qualities and characteristics they require in a man. Well, keep the top three, and throw the rest of it in the trash! The purpose of expanding your dating pool is to loosen up your strict dating routine.
